Asiga MAX LIFT Build Tray
Asiga MAX LIFT Build Tray is engineered to increase print speed by lowering separation forces during printing on Asiga MAX series 3D printers.
LIFT™ technology creates a liquid interface at the curing zone, which helps each layer release more smoothly from the film during the build process.
With lower peel forces, the tray supports faster production and can reduce print time by up to 50%, depending on the material being used.
This liquid interface also helps protect the film surface, extending tray service life and enabling processing of approximately 5 liters of resin.
The tray can be integrated into standard production workflows according to the selected tray setup.
| Tray type (Asiga) | Description and construction | Recommended materials/applications | Advantages | Limitations |
| Universal™ | Standard tray with a flexible film in a rigid frame, designed for most Asiga resins. It produces a matte, fine surface finish and is compatible with many models (Max, Pico, Pro, etc.). | Broad range of tasks: diagnostic models, prototypes, general dental prints. Suitable for hard resins, so it’s used in most medical, dental and engineering applications. | Affordable and durable; works with many materials; provides a predictable matte finish (requires little post‑processing). | Does not give a high-gloss finish—parts have a matte surface; heavy or sticky resins can wear the film faster; for glossy parts you need UltraGloss. |
| UltraGLOSS™ | Tray with a film that keeps a thin layer of liquid resin (LIFT technology). It allows you to print clear parts with a glossy, pre‑polished surface, eliminating manual polishing; after printing you just wash and cure normally. | Transparent materials: night guards, occlusal splints, clear ear moulds, lenses, visors and other parts where shine is important. | Parts come out glossy straight away, reducing polishing by about 90%; especially useful for aesthetic items—splints, shields, visors. | Mainly for transparent resins; each resin may need testing; the trays are more expensive than standard ones and only work with certain models (MAX, MAX X, PRO 4K, Ultra). |
| Low Force™ | Tray with a special film that reduces peel forces during layer separation, lowering the risk of deformation or cracking in delicate or flexible parts. | Elastomeric resins: flexible splints, soft gingiva, orthodontic transfer trays, delicate orthodontic hooks, soft hearing‑aid shells, microfluidic components, miniatures. | Lower peel forces → better printing of thin, flexible or fragile parts; reduces printing failures. | Not ideal for very hard resins—Asiga recommends standard or Endurance trays in those cases; may require adjustments to supports or exposure settings; available only for certain models (MAX/MAX X/Pro 4K). |
Key takeaways
- Universal trays are the most versatile. They’re ideal for most jobs when a matte/semi-matte finish and high accuracy are needed.
- UltraGLOSS trays are chosen when you need clear parts with a glossy surface. They produce clear, polished splints, guards and other aesthetic items straight out of the printer. They cost more and are designed for clear resins.
- Low Force trays are tailored for flexible or thin parts. They reduce peel forces, which helps protect delicate geometries and elastomeric materials. They’re not suitable for very hard resins.
The right choice depends on what you’re printing: universal for general hard resins, UltraGLOSS for clear glossy parts, and Low Force for flexible or delicate prints.
Limitations
- compatible only with Asiga MAX series printers
- printing performance may vary depending on the resin used
